This page provides details of AV Dawson’s group terms and conditions, the standard industry terms the group businesses work to, and the fuel indexes which are used as a mechanism to ensure that rates fairly reflect fuel costs.

Ships Agency
AV Dawson’s ship’s agency, Cockfield Knight, operates under separate Terms which can be accessed here.
Fuel Indexes
Unless otherwise specified within the quoted rates or contract, the Road Haulage Association (RHA) Index is used for diesel costs for road transport operations and the Portland Index is used for gasoil costs for plant equipment.
Standard Industry Terms
For any areas not covered within AV Dawson’s contracts and its Terms of Business, the company refers to the relevant Standard Industry Terms for each area of its Services as detailed below:
- Agency terms – The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Standard Trading Conditions 2007 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
- BIFA terms – British International Freight Association (BIFA) Standard Trading Conditions 2021 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
- CMR terms – the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road Regulations 1956 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
- CPA terms – the Construction Plant Hire Association Contract Conditions for Logistics 2021 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
- RHA terms – Road Haulage Association Limited Conditions of Carriage 2024 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
- UKWA terms – United Kingdom Warehousing Association Contract Conditions For Logistics 2022 or any updated or replacement version of the aforementioned in force at the Commencement Date.
